Melasma

What is Melasma?

Melasma, also called ‘chloasma’, is a common skin condition found in adults. Light to dark brown or grayish pigmentation develops, mainly on the face.Melasma causes patches of discoloration. The patches are darker than your typical skin color. Melasma or hyper-pigmentation can be genetic, hormonal or sun-induced.

How Is Melasma Diagnosed?

A complimentary digital exam of the affected area is performed by one of our highly trained therapists, followed by a treatment and product plan to successfully address the condition and improve the appearance of your skin.

How to treat Melasma ?

DermaPulse Laser Clinic offers a wide range of medical aesthetic treatments to reduce the viability of melasma in your skin.
Sun induced spots and pigmentation that is more superficial, are often easier to treat, while a deeper hormonal pigmentation might be a longer process and is a condition that needs to be maintained to prevent flare-ups.

Treatments include (depending on each individual case):
  • DermaPen micro-needling
  • IPL - photo rejuvenation
  • Chemical Peels
  • Medical grade skin care products
